First Look of the Day: Thirteen years later, Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe is reuniting with Cowboy Bebop composer Yoko Kanno for a brand new anime about “a naive boy and a scruffy boy [who] share a passion for jazz in a provincial town in the late 1960s.”

Based on Yūki Kodama’s same-named manga series, Sakamichi no Apollon is set to air this April on Fuji TV’s anime programming block, Noitamina.

Wrote a paper about Yoko Kanno and her Jazz influences while making music for Cowboy Bebop in my writing intensive class :D

Animes that use music as a focal point for character development is always dope. Jazz being the focal point is the icing on the cake. Hyped.

For some reason I have no recollection of this Chapelle skit but nonetheless I proceeded to laugh my ass off. Instant classic.

I think I’m more excited that the fucking REFUSED are back together than ATDI. It’s kinda lame that the later’s reunion is greatly overshadowing the formers. It makes sense though since ATDI who broke in 2000 was more relevant for most as opposed to Refused who broke in 98.

What most young kids nowadays (I’m talking about kids just getting into high school) won’t realize is the bands they’re listening to now were inspired by bands that I got into at that age who were in turn, greatly inspired by these two bands

The American Dollar - Age of Wonder

Downloaded Reason 5 the other day and a midi-to-usb cable is on its way from Amazon. Realized that the old electronic Yamaha keyboard we have has a midi out port and thus, can be used as a midi controller. Time to get creative in my downtime while job hunting. This American Dollar track has been a source of inspiration for a few days now.
